Why this exists

Small supports, used often, make the biggest difference.

Everything here — from tools to workshops — is built for a real, practical need: quick to use, clear to understand, and respectful of the people it's for. As the Wairarapa side of this project grows, this site will grow with it.

For Teachers

Understanding and Supporting ADHD

Professional development afternoon

This afternoon session explores ADHD through both a neuroscience and developmental lens — what it is, what causes it, and how it connects to executive function skills like memory, attention, and self-regulation. We'll unpack how these challenges show up in everyday classroom moments, and build them into a practical framework for support: lowering stress, tapping into student strengths, and teaching key skills directly.

Grounded in real classroom practice, the focus isn't on learning something entirely new — it's on recognising the tools you already have, and applying them with intention for students with ADHD. You'll leave with working examples and strategies you can put into practice straight away.

Understanding and Supporting ADHD

Parent evening

This evening offers parents and caregivers a clear, practical introduction to ADHD — what it is, how it connects to key life skills, and what the diagnosis and screening process actually involves, including an honest look at what medication can and can't do.

From there, the focus shifts to home: practical strategies for lowering stress, building on your child's strengths, and teaching key skills in everyday family life. Whether you're just starting to notice signs or supporting a child with an existing diagnosis, the evening is designed to meet you where you are — and it closes with an open Q&A for whatever's on your mind.
